- The 1968 Vienna-format document format identified in the NPA reference is not valid for driving in Japan. This statement applies only to that format.
Japanese translation route
Approved translation channels:
- Japan Automobile Federation (JAF).
- The Belgium licence issuing authority or Belgium consular office in Japan, where permitted by NPA guidance.
- Another organisation designated by the National Public Safety Commission, where applicable.

- Original valid Belgian driving licence.
- Approved Japanese translation in the required physical form.
- Original passport.

Entry and eligibility checks
